Brace yourself for a flavor explosion with this Fire Garlic Minced Beef and Enoki Mushroom dish, served over a bed of fluffy rice! The spiciness is beautifully balanced out with the delicate texture of the enoki mushrooms and slightly sweet sauce. But what truly makes this dish sing is the combination of fiery gochujang-based sauce with bits of minced beef and chunks of garlic throughout which packs a punch of spice and umami in every bite. It’s the perfect balance of heat, garlic, and depth, and once you taste it, you’ll be hooked.

The star of the show here is the gochujang sauce. This Korean chili paste brings a bold, spicy kick that pairs perfectly with the savory minced beef. Sautéed garlic is the first thing you’ll notice as we will use a lot, releasing a fragrance that’s simply irresistible. Add in that rich gochujang, a touch of sweetness, and a dash of soy sauce, and you’ve got a sauce that’s as fiery as it is flavorful. It coats the beef beautifully, making every bite a perfect combination of heat and savory satisfaction.

Then there are the enoki mushrooms, which add an unexpected twist to the dish. With their tender yet crunchy texture, they provide the perfect contrast to the richness of the beef and the boldness of the sauce. These delicate mushrooms soak up the sauce, adding a subtle umami flavor and an extra layer of texture that keeps every mouthful exciting. Trust me, you’ll be reaching for more of those enoki mushrooms than you ever thought possible!

All of this is served over a steaming bowl of rice, which acts as the perfect base to soak up all that mouthwatering sauce. The rice provides a comforting, neutral canvas that balances out the heat and the richness of the beef, making each bite feel like a warm hug for your taste buds. The dish is comforting yet exciting, with just the right amount of spice to keep you coming back for more.

So, whether you’re looking to spice up your weeknight dinner or impress your friends with your culinary skills, this Fire Garlic Minced Beef and Enoki Mushroom recipe with gochujang sauce is your ticket to flavor heaven. It’s quick, it’s easy, and it’s a guaranteed crowd-pleaser. Grab your apron and get ready to dive into this spicy, savory masterpiece – your taste buds will thank you!

Ingredients

  • 1 1 pack enoki mushrooms

  • 1/2 lb 1/2 ground beef

  • 1/2 1/2 onion

  • 1 1 head of garlic

  • 3 tbsp 3 gochujang

  • 3 tbsp 3 gochugaru

  • 3 tbsp 3 soy sauce

  • 1.5 tbsp 1.5 brown sugar

  • 1 tsp 1 sesame oil

  • 1 tsp 1 sesame seeds

  • 1 cup 1 water

  • 2 tbsp 2 green onions

  • 2 cups 2 cooked white rice

Directions

  • Dice onion and sauté on the pan with a bit of oil then add the ground beef. Break up the ground beef and let it cook until 85% cooked through then use a paper towel to soak up the extra fat.
  • Cut off the dirt roots of the enoki mushrooms and slice horizontally so they’re still stuck together at the bottom. Lay on the enoki mushrooms into the pan of ground beef.
  • Mix gochujang, gochugaru, soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, sesame oil, sesame seeds, and water. Pour over the pan and let it soak and simmer for 5 minutes. Sprinkle on green onions and add rice in the middle.
  • Enjoy!
