If you’ve ever dreamed of combining the buttery flakiness of a croissant with the creamy sweetness of a Chinese egg tart, then brace yourself for a deliciously easy twist on a classic treat. Enter Egg Tarts Made with Costco Croissants—a shortcut hack that brings these two iconic pastries together in the most delightful way possible. No need to roll out dough or deal with complicated steps; all you need is a box of Costco croissants, a simple egg tart filling, and your oven to create an irresistible snack that’s bound to become your new favorite.

We all know that Costco croissants are the epitome of buttery perfection—flaky, golden, and just the right amount of airy. So, why not turn these beauties into a shortcut to egg tart heaven? Instead of making a traditional tart crust from scratch, you can simply cut the croissants into smaller pieces, form them into mini tart shells, and fill them with a silky smooth Chinese egg tart custard. The result? A hybrid pastry that combines the best of both worlds—croissant indulgence and egg tart satisfaction.

The beauty of this recipe lies in how simple and quick it is. In less than 30 minutes, you can have a tray of warm, freshly baked egg tarts that look like they came straight from your favorite bakery. The croissant shell provides a buttery, flaky texture that contrasts beautifully with the creamy, slightly sweet egg custard. The filling, made from just a few basic ingredients like eggs, sugar, evaporated milk, and a hint of vanilla, creates the perfect balance of flavor—velvety and smooth, without being overly sweet.

This recipe isn’t just for pastry pros—anyone can make these egg tarts, no fancy tools or skills required. Whether you’re a beginner in the kitchen or an experienced baker looking for a fun, fast project, these croissant egg tarts will have you feeling like a culinary genius. They’re a perfect treat for breakfast, an afternoon snack, or even a whimsical dessert after dinner. Plus, they’re a great way to impress guests without spending hours in the kitchen.

So next time you’re in Costco, grab a pack of those mouthwatering croissants and get ready to create an egg tart masterpiece. These croissant egg tarts are a game-changer, blending the best elements of two beloved pastries in a fun, easy-to-make treat. It’s the kind of dish that’ll make your friends ask, “How did you make this?” and you’ll just smile, knowing that you turned a few simple ingredients into a show-stopping dessert.

Ingredients

  • 4 4 eggs

  • 1 cup 1 milk

  • 1/2 cup 1/2 sugar

  • 1 tsp 1 vanilla extract

  • 1/10 tsp 1/10 sea salt

  • 3 3 Costco croissants

  • Egg Wash
  • 1 1 egg

  • 1 tbsp 1 water

Directions

  • Combine eggs, sugar, milk, vanilla extract, and sea salt.
  • Strain batter through a sifter to ensure no lumps.
  • Cut a slit into the middle of the croissants without cutting through. Carefully widen the hole of the croissant to make space for the filling.
  • Preheat oven 385F degrees. Mix an egg and water and brush the outside of the croissants before baking for a shiny finish.
  • Fill the croissant half way with the batter and put into the oven for 3-4 minutes until the filling has slightly set. (If you try to pour all the filling at once, it will leak out.) Take the croissants out and pour more of the batter to fill almost all the way. Place croissants back into the oven until the filling sets, this should take around 5-7 minutes.
  • Enjoy!
