Cheesy Buldak Chicken Puff Pastry Twists

If you’re a fan of spicy, cheesy appetizers, these Cheesy Buldak Chicken Puff Pastry Twists are about to become your new favorite snack. Flaky puff pastry is filled with a creamy mixture of shredded chicken, cream cheese, mozzarella, green onions, and spicy Buldak hot sauce before being twisted, baked until golden brown, and finished with garlic butter, Parmesan, and an extra drizzle of Buldak sauce. Every bite is buttery, crispy, cheesy, and packed with bold Korean inspired flavors.

One of my favorite things about this recipe is how easy it is to make. Store bought puff pastry does all the heavy lifting while the creamy chicken filling comes together in just a few minutes. It’s also a great way to use up leftover or rotisserie chicken, making it perfect for busy weeknights, game days, or whenever you’re craving something spicy and comforting.

The best part has to be the texture. The buttery puff pastry bakes up light and flaky while the cheesy filling stays warm and creamy inside. Finish everything with garlic butter, fresh green onions, Parmesan cheese, and another drizzle of Buldak hot sauce, and you’ve got an appetizer that’s guaranteed to disappear the second it hits the table.

Ingredients

Frozen Puff Pastry Dough

The star of the recipe. Puff pastry bakes into buttery, flaky layers that create the perfect crispy exterior for the creamy filling.

Shredded Chicken

Adds protein and makes the filling hearty and satisfying. Rotisserie chicken works great for a quick shortcut, but any cooked shredded chicken will work.

Cream Cheese

Creates a rich, creamy filling and helps hold everything together.

Mozzarella Cheese

Melts beautifully inside the twists while adding an extra cheesy topping that turns golden in the oven.

Green Onions

Add freshness and a mild onion flavor that balances the richness of the filling.

Buldak Hot Sauce

The ingredient that gives these twists their signature spicy, smoky, and slightly sweet flavor.

Salt and Pepper

Season the chicken if you’re using plain cooked chicken instead of rotisserie chicken.

Egg Wash

Egg + Water
A simple egg wash brushed over the puff pastry before baking to help it turn beautifully golden brown with a shiny, flaky finish.

Toppings

Garlic Butter

A simple mixture of melted butter and fresh garlic brushed over the twists for extra richness and flavor.

Green Onions

Add freshness and color after baking.

Parmesan Cheese

Adds a salty, nutty finish that pairs perfectly with the buttery pastry.

Buldak Hot Sauce

An extra drizzle on top adds another layer of heat and flavor.

Substitutions

  • Use rotisserie chicken instead of cooking your own chicken.
  • Substitute Monterey Jack, cheddar, or pepper jack for mozzarella.
  • Replace green onions with chives.
  • Add cooked bacon for extra smoky flavor.
