If you love a classic chicken Caesar salad but want something a little more satisfying and handheld, this Chicken Caesar Salad Crispy Pita Wrap is the perfect upgrade. It combines juicy seasoned chicken, crisp romaine lettuce, crunchy croutons, and a creamy homemade Caesar dressing all wrapped inside a golden crispy pita. The result is a wrap that’s crunchy, creamy, savory, and incredibly satisfying.

What makes this wrap special is the crispy pita shell. After filling the pita with chicken Caesar salad, the wrap is lightly toasted in a pan until the outside becomes golden and crisp. This creates the perfect contrast between the warm crispy pita and the cool, creamy salad inside. It’s a simple trick that takes an everyday Caesar wrap and turns it into something much more exciting.

This recipe is also great because it’s quick, versatile, and perfect for lunch or dinner. The homemade Caesar dressing is rich and flavorful thanks to anchovies, parmesan, and lemon, and it pairs perfectly with the seasoned chicken. Whether you’re looking for a satisfying meal prep idea or a quick weeknight dinner, this crispy chicken Caesar pita wrap delivers big flavor with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Chicken

Chicken is the main protein in this wrap. When pan fried with simple spices, it becomes juicy and flavorful and pairs perfectly with the creamy Caesar dressing.

Olive Oil

Used to pan fry the chicken and help create a golden, flavorful crust.

Garlic Salt

Adds savory garlic flavor and saltiness that helps season the chicken evenly.

Garlic Powder

Enhances the garlic flavor and gives the chicken a deeper savory taste.

Paprika

Adds subtle warmth and color to the chicken seasoning.

Large Pita

The pita acts as the wrap and becomes crispy when toasted in a pan, giving the wrap its signature texture.

Romaine Lettuce

Romaine is the classic lettuce used in Caesar salad because it’s crisp, fresh, and sturdy enough to hold dressing without wilting.

Croutons

Croutons add extra crunch and help mimic the classic Caesar salad texture inside the wrap.

Caesar Dressing

Mayonnaise

Creates the creamy base for the dressing.

Garlic

Garlic adds savory depth and bold flavor to the Caesar dressing, balancing the richness of the mayo and parmesan.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Adds richness and a smooth texture.

Lemon Juice

Brightens the dressing and balances the richness with acidity.

Canned Anchovies

Anchovies add deep umami flavor and are essential to authentic Caesar dressing.

Parmesan

Provides salty, nutty flavor and helps thicken the dressing.

Black Pepper

Adds a mild spice that enhances the dressing.

Dijon Mustard

Helps emulsify the dressing while adding a subtle tang.

Ingredients

  • 1 large 1 chicken breast, halved

  • 2 tbsp 2 olive oil

  • 1/2 tsp 1/2 garlic salt

  • 1/2 tsp 1/2 garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp 1/2 paprika

  • 1/4 tsp 1/4 pepper

  • 2 2 large pita pockets, split

  • Chicken Caesar Salad
  • 4 cups 4 romaine lettuce, chopped

  • 1/3 cup 1/3 croutons

  • 1/4 cup 1/4 mayo

  • 2 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1.5 tbsp 1.5 extra virgin olive oil

  • 1 tbsp 1 lemon juice

  • 1 tsp 1 dijon mustard

  • 1/4 cup 1/4 grated parmesan

  • 2 2 anchovies from can

  • 1/4 tsp 1/4 pepper

Directions

  • Cook the chicken.
Cut the chicken breast in half so the pieces are flat and thinner. Season the sliced chicken with garlic salt, garlic powder, paprika, and pepper. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat and cook the chicken until golden and fully cooked, about 5 minutes. Let the chicken rest for 3-5 minutes before slicing to keep the juices in.
  • Make the Caesar dressing.
In a bowl, mash the anchovies until smooth. Add mayo, olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, parmesan, dijon mustard, and black pepper. Whisk until creamy and combined.
  • Prepare the Caesar salad filling.
In a bowl, toss chopped romaine lettuce with the Caesar dressing. Add croutons and mix lightly.
  • Assemble the wraps.
Split the pita pocket into two pieces. Lay down one piece. Fill with Caesar salad mixture and sliced chicken. Double wrap with the second pita piece.
  • Crisp the wrap.
Place the filled pita wrap in a pan over medium heat with 1 tbsp of olive oil and toast for 1-2 minutes per side until the outside becomes golden and crispy.
  • Serve.
Serve immediately while the pita is warm and crispy with extra Caesar dressing on the side.
