Crumbl Inspired Strawberry Tres Leches Mini Cakes

If you’ve ever had the pleasure of tasting Crumbl’s limited-edition Strawberry Tres Leches Mini Cake, then you already know it’s a dessert dream come true. Soft, milky, and delicately sweet with that signature strawberry flavor baked right in — it’s the kind of treat that’s simple in appearance but rich in flavor. Inspired by that fan-favorite, these Crumbl-Inspired Strawberry Tres Leches Mini Cakes deliver the same creamy, nostalgic goodness — they’re perfectly packed in cute individual portions and with a recipe that’s delightfully easy to pull off at home.

Here’s the best part: we’re keeping it super simple by starting with a box cake mix. That’s right — no need to bust out a million ingredients or separate eggs for a traditional sponge. A quality vanilla or white cake mix provides the perfect base for soaking up all that creamy tres leches mixture. With a few basic ingredients and a little love, you’ll transform an ordinary mix into something absolutely bakery-worthy — soft, airy, and ready to drink up the sweet milk blend.

Speaking of that blend, we’re sticking with the classic trio: evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, and half and half. It’s rich but not too heavy, and it creates the signature tres leches texture — velvety, moist, and almost custard-like without being soggy. Once your mini cakes are baked, you’ll poke them all over and gently pour that milky goodness on top, letting the magic happen as they chill in the fridge. The result? A bite-sized dessert that melts in your mouth and leaves you wanting just one more (okay, maybe three more).

These mini cakes are perfect for entertaining or just treating yourself to something homemade and special. Since they’re made in a muffin tin or mini cake molds, there’s no slicing or plating drama — just individual little cakes that look effortlessly elegant with a dollop of whipped cream on top. That’s it. No fruit, no compote, no fuss — just rich, creamy flavor in every bite. They’re simple, satisfying, and guaranteed to be a hit with anyone lucky enough to snag one.

So if you’ve been craving Crumbl’s Strawberry Tres Leches or want to try something new without spending hours in the kitchen, this recipe is for you. It’s the perfect mix of shortcut and showstopper — easy enough for beginners, impressive enough for guests. Go grab your box of cake mix and let’s bake up something amazing, one mini cake at a time.

Ingredients

  • 1 1 Super Moist Strawberry Flavored Boxed Cake Mix

  • 3 3 eggs

  • 1/2 cup 1/2 vegetable oil

  • 1 cup 1 milk

  • Tres Leches Soak Mixture
  • 3/4 can 3/4 evaporated milk

  • 1/2 can 1/2 condensed milk

  • 3/4 cup 3/4 half n half

  • 1 tsp 1 vanilla extract

  • Whipped Cream
  • 1 cup 1 heavy whipping cream

  • 2 tbsp 2 powdered sugar

  • 1 tsp 1 vanilla extract

  • Toppings (Optional)
  • strawberry wafers

  • fresh strawberries

Directions

  • In a bowl, mix cake mix, milk, eggs, and oil until combined. Pour into small cake tins (mine were about 6″ x 3″) and bake at 350F degrees for 30-35 mins or until you poke a toothpick in the center and it comes out clean. Let the cakes cool for 20 minutes.
  • In a bowl, mix evaporated milk, condensed milk, half and half, and vanilla extract. Add 1/4 cup of milk mixture to each cake tin. Let it soak overnight in the fridge.
  • Using an electric mixture, whip up heavy cream, powered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  • Pipe on the whipped cream with a ziploc bag. Add fresh cut strawberries and crushed strawberry wafers.
  • Enjoy!
