If you’re craving a sweet treat that’s both fun and easy to make, then candied Starburst strawberries are here to save the day! Imagine the classic Chinese street snack tanghulu, where fruits are dipped in hard candy, but with a twist—no candy thermometers, no sticky pot, and no complicated steps. This recipe uses the microwave to melt Starburst candies into a perfectly glossy, crunchy candy coating that gives each juicy strawberry an irresistible, candy-coated finish. And the best part? It only takes a few minutes to create!

The recipe is incredibly simple and perfect for when you’re looking to impress guests or treat yourself to something special. You’ll just need a handful of fresh strawberries, some Starburst candies (feel free to pick your favorite flavors!), and a microwave-safe bowl. No need for any fancy equipment—just your trusty microwave and a bit of patience while the Starburst candies transform into a sticky, sweet syrup that coats the strawberries in a delicious layer of candy. It’s so quick and easy, even the kids can get involved!

What makes these candied strawberries even more fun is the rainbow of colors and flavors you get to play with! Each Starburst flavor will add its unique burst of sweetness, making every bite a fun, fruity explosion. The best part? You can mix and match different flavors for a colorful treat that looks as good as it tastes. If you’re feeling extra adventurous, drizzle some extra candy syrup over the top or add sprinkles to give them a playful, festive flair.

So, whether you’re hosting a party, looking for an easy snack, or just indulging your sweet tooth, candied Starburst strawberries are the perfect solution. With minimal effort, maximum flavor, and a delightful crunch, these sweet treats will quickly become your go-to snack whenever you’re in the mood for something sweet and satisfying. Plus, who doesn’t love a good microwave hack to make life a little bit easier?

Ingredients

  • 1 1 shareable size of starbursts candy

  • 1 pack 1 strawberries

Directions

  • Wash your strawberries and pat completely dry. If there is any water or dampness on the strawberries, the candy won’t stick well. Don’t cut off the strawberry stems so it keeps the fruit’s juices in.
  • Unwrap each flavor and place in separate bowls. You want the bowls to be just wide enough to fit the strawberries so you can use less candy but still be able to dip the strawberry easily. Microwave one bowl at a time because it will harden very quickly. Microwave in 30 seconds intervals and mix in-between. Watch it carefully as it might over flow in the microwave. It’s best to dip the strawberry when the melted candy foam is fluffy (this is right when you take it out the microwave) so the coating will be thin. Reheat the bowl when needed if the candy gets too stiff to work with.
  • Dunk in an ice bath bowl and enjoy immediately.
